The Brewery

  • Kloster Machern-Hell" (pale ale)

Starting from an original extract of 12.2% our light ale is brewed with bottom fermenting yeasts to yield a typical bavarian beer spciality containing 5.2% alcohol by volume. Less hops are used than in a pilsner beer, which gives it a mild taste. Our light ale is a delicious, full-bodied beer which is especially palatable.

  • "Kloster Machern-Dunkel" (stout)

Our dark beer has an original extract of 12.4% and contains 5.4% alcohol by volume. It is brewed entirely from dark malt with little hops using bottom fermenting yeast according to an old, monastery recipe. The result is a delicious beer with a full-bodied, malty taste.

  • "Kloster Machern-Hefeweizen" (wheat beer)

Our wheat beer is brewed with top fermenting yeast from an original extract of 12.2% yielding 5.3% alcohol by volume. The complicated fermentation process results in a fruity, spicy taste. It is unfiltered, like all our beers, and thus retains some of the yeast which makes the beer more palatable and more healthy.
